Fall Rep Council Meeting Begins

Rep Council members are gathering at the Holiday Inn for the beginning of the Fall Rep Council Meeting. 52 members of the council will be gathering for the 2005 Fall meeting. I hope to be able to Blog this meeting since we have wireless access to the internet throughout the Holiday Inn. Please post questions and responses to the work of the Council. Mary Kay (returning to the RC for a new term) and Joe wait in the lobby to be joined by other members of their committee. Our agenda has time for committees to conduct their business. That's all from the Elk Grove Holiday Inn for now. I'm Don Kurre and I look forward to hearing from you during this meeting.

I wanted to share several general thoughts about this blog.
I believe it is important that this site is somehow connected by a link in the membership area of the NCCL webpage.
At the same time a statement should that should always appear on each page (perhaps in the heading) is that “Opinions expressed in DDRE Forum Today are the author's and not necessarily representative of the National Conference for Catechetical Leadership.” Since what appears on this site could indeed be entered, read and reviewed by anyone and the Officers, Board of Directors and the Executive Director are not in a position to control or edit what appears, as we do in official NCCL publications and documents, we would not want anyone to think that this is the official voice of NCCL.
At the same time it is hoped that in sharing on this forum Diocesan Directors will surface resources, trends and ideas that will help them in their unique role in the Catechetical ministry between meetings and gatherings and thus enrich those times when we do gather. This is a great way for us to continue conversations and dialogue that begin at the meetings and that time does not always allow us to go into the depth we would like. I hope that more of us find ways to keep checking this site and using it as a resource.
I am grateful this contribution Don has made in showing us how the technology can help us to work smarter.
